Winter. It comes back every year and yet every year I am just as saddened to see it. Do not get me wrong, winter can be beautiful and a white Christmas should always be the gold standard (of course, I could equally enjoy a white Christmas on the white sandy beaches of the Bahamas, but hey one can dream).
To help get over this bit of Winter time blues, I think we need a drink and just like the song says, this Jack Frost will definitely be nipping at your nose!
Let us start with what you will need:
- 2oz Vodka
- 2oz Prosecco
- 2oz Gin
- ½oz Blue Curacao
- ¼ cup of Lemonade (feel free to add more to hide more of the alcohol taste)
- 1 lemon wedge and white sugar to garnish
Now there are two ways to make this drink:
- First, we can make this as a traditional cocktail. Using a Shaker with Ice (or Jar or Bottle) pour in all of your alcohols, your lemonade and your blue curacao. Then take your glass (a stemless wine glass works beautifully) and rim your glass by gently passing your lemon wedge around the edge and dip it into your sugar. Add in a handful of Ice into your glass and pour in the mixture, straining it to ensure no ice gets added into it.
- The second option is to place about 2 cups of Ice into a Blender, then pour everything in, your alcohols, lemonade and blue curacao. Now, blend this mixture until it has the consistency of a slushy. Once again rim your glass with a lemon wedge and sugar and then put in your mixture as is. This will be harder to drink without a straw so one will come in handy.
