Ingredients:
- 3 cups of all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of warm water
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- Cornmeal or Flour for dusting
- 1 Pepperoni Caserta
- Your choice of cheeses (We usually like a healthy mix of cheeses like cheddar, mozzarella, provolone and parmesan)
- Pizza Sauce (can be homemade or from the can, they’re all delicious)
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 450º F
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine your flour and salt with a fork and make sure they are mixed really well together. This can also be done using a food processor.
Step 3: Add your Warm Water and Olive Oil to the Mix.
Step 4: Using a large spoon and eventually your hands, mix your flour, salt, water and oil mixture until a large dough ball forms.
Step 5: Now, sprinkle a little bit of flour on a surface like a large cutting board or directly on the counter and knead your dough for roughly 1 minute.
Step 6: Divide your dough in half and roll each one out into a kind of oval/rectangular shape.
Step 7: Take an individual baking tray for each flatbread and now you’re ready to begin putting on your toppings just like you would a normal pizza.
*Remember it goes sauce first, then your pepperoni caserta pieces and your cheese can go in any order, some people like to see their toppings on top of the cheese and others prefer the cheese melt over everything!*
Step 8: Bake your flatbread for about 12 - 15 minutes so that not only does the dough have time to bake but also enough time to melt your cheese and get that signature pizza smell.
