Italian Sausage Quiche

Welcome to day 6 of our 12 days to Unconventional Christmas countdown! Today we are going to change our focus to making a delicious breakfast item, we are going to make an Italian Sausage Quiche! If your family is like ours, we go all out for Christmas Breakfast as much as we do for our family Christmas Dinner and this is the perfect recipe for just that!

Here is what you will need:

  • 1 pie shell, feel free to bake one with your own recipe or something like a tender flake crust will do perfectly for this.
  • 1 package of Casa Mia Mild or Spicy Italian Sausages (Available Here!)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups of evaporated milk, light cream (5%) or half and half (10%)
  • Your choice of vegetables if you want to add any

To begin, cut up your sausages so that they are in small pieces and can be mixed in very easily with the rest of the ingredients. Cook these small sausage pieces in a pan with a little bit of vegetable oil. This is also a perfect time to sauté some onions if you would like to add these into it.

Next up, take your pie shell and place your sausage bits into it. (Make sure they have cooled a little bit)

Now, crack 4 eggs into a large bowl and add in your 1 ½ cups of evaporated milk or cream. Whisk these together in the same style you would when making an Omelet. Add this mixture directly into the pie crust.

Finally, bake this at 350° for 35 - 40 minutes and let stand 5 minutes before serving!

You can enjoy this recipe as either part of a breakfast meal or as the main dish itself. Let us know how much you enjoyed this recipe and of course if you made any changes to it, we would love to try them out as well.
